The reliable accuracy of these sleek, low-profile, analog hotplate stirrers can be relied upon for routine applications. A consistent stirring speed up to 2000rpm is achieved with the feedback control design of the RT2 Basic series. It provides constant stirring speed even when the viscosity of the media changes during operation. The RT2 basic features exceptionally strong magnetic coupling power and a smooth-start stirring mechanism. Virtually no decoupling of magnetic stir bars occurs, even with viscous media or at high speeds. The unit boasts quick heat-up time due to it's ample heating capacity (600W), as well as a superb heat transfer rate enabled by the tightly integrated structure of the heater and the ceramic-coated aluminum alloy top plate. The top provides exceptional temperature uniformity, while the thin white ceramic coating provides excellent corrosion resistance. This combination allows for optimal monitoring of color changes in samples or media during operation. Safety features include hot top warning (even when unit is shut off and still plugged in), automatic over-temperature shut-off, detachable power cord, and optional transparent shield. Unit includes two threaded holes for support rods to hold various devices, such as temperature sensors, thermometers, laboratory glassware,and more.
